Chip Mahaney, WCPO-TV news director, sent this email to the staff Tuesday afternoon: "I want to let you know that Kathrine Nero is no longer with WCPO. Best of luck to you, Kathrine and thanks for the many years of news and laughs (especially the laughs). Here's the full message posted by Artist Sunday: "YES its true after 5+ years of hosting Good Morning Tri-State Weekend Edition, I AM NO LONGER at WCPO 9. We won't have a house here, but this will always be home," says the Houston native who is moving to Bradenton, Fla., where his wife has accepted a job as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. "Technically my position is MMJ a multi-media journalist. The last couple years, you all have blessed me so much with your welcoming kindness and I thank you, dearly, for challenging me to be better and better each and every day. For most of our careers, we've been competitors- but we've ALWAYS been friends, first! WCPO 9 advocates for the people of Cincinnati. I was a MMJ and that was fine, especially when I first started," he says. O'Neill started her career at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, La., in 1991, while studying broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University. She had another year left on her contract, but station executives exercised. ![]() Artist came to Cincinnati in 2015, after nearly 10 years at Pittsburgh's WPIX-TV. ![]() Shea Allen, a local reporter in Huntsville, Alabama, may have thought she was being fiery and whimsical when she published a 10-point reflection, aptly titled Confessions of a Red Headed Reporter. Thanks for being you, I never got to know you very well. Skovira comes to WCPO 9 from sister station KIVI-TV in Boise, Idaho, where she anchored "Good Morning Idaho.".
